Lachlan is the Principal Solicitor of Avern McIntyre & Co and the director of B & B Legal Pty Ltd. Lachlan grew up in the Riverina (specifically, the Murrumbidgee Irrigation Area). He worked with a long-established law firm in Griffith New South Wales for a number of years, before making the transition to the Northern Tablelands. 

Lachlan’s role is very broad and includes business and trusts law, leases, commercial law, general litigation, wills, including testamentary trusts, powers of attorney and enduring guardianships, estates, complex rural transfers, and all types of conveyancing.

Lachlan has an interest in agriculture and farming. Lachlan keeps himself busy outside of work being a new Dad. 

Ian is a second-generation solicitor who has practiced in and around the local area for in excess of 50 years. Prior to becoming a principal at Borthwick & Butler (along with Avern McIntyre & co Inverell and Liston Legal Glen Innes) he was a partner of the Inverell firm known as Wiltshire Britton & Dun and then practiced as a sole practitioner as Ian G Dun. In 2019, the two long standing local firms merged. 

Ian is one of the most experienced solicitors in the New England region. His clients are mostly long established multi-generational farming families. Ian is now acting for the fourth generation of farmers in some families, having acted for the first generation early on in his career.

Ian’s focus areas mainly consist of complex estate and property law issues. 

Ian enjoys traveling the countryside with his wife Julie. Ian is a long-standing member of Scouts Australia and a member of Inverell Rotary Club.

Bronwyn is an Inverell local returning to town in 1999 after working for the Auditor-General. Brownyn commenced working at Avern Macintyre & co in 1999 and became a partner in 2011, before joining B&B Legal Pty Ltd in 2022 when the firm merged. 

Bronwyn instils confidence in her clients with 23 years post admission experience, backed by a combined degree in financial administration & Law (Honours). With an abundance of experience, Bronwyn practices across a broad range of law including but not limited to, Wills and estates, succession planning, conveyancing, commercial law, criminal law and family law.

When Bronwyn is not practicing law, she is on the farm with her husband and busy raising her two teenage daughters.
She also sits on the board of a large local not-for-profit that employees over 100 staff in the district. She is passionate about issues in early childhood specifically in the availability and access to preschools, and the health and wellbeing of our young people. 

Christopher moved from Sydney to Inverell in 1977 to commence his law degree at Avern McIntyre & Co. He became a partner in 1983 up until the firm was purchased by B & B Legal.

With 45 years of experience in a vast range of law and conveyancing, Chris is able to provide a high level of legal advice to the New South Wales and Queensland border towns. Chris practices law in both New South Wales and Queensland, servicing offices in both Inverell NSW and Texas QLD.

Chris and his wife have 3 adult children that he enjoys spending his time with, along with his grandchildren. In his spare time he likes to attend cultural events such as theatre, concerts, and art galleries. Chris is active in the community, having been involved with Inverell Children’s Services, Inverell Theatre Company, Inverell Music Centre, Inverell Cultural Group, and Inverell Rotary.
